The course offers 3 classes: Free Trade Agreements, Duty Optimization and U.S. Customs Audits with the fundamentals to Importer Self-Assessment (ISA).
Students will learn the requirements to trade goods between the U.S. and other countries free of duty, how to save and recover duty (duty drawback and first sale), and how to prepare for a U.S. Customs audit. Lastly, students will learn how to successfully navigate becoming an ISA participate.

Free Trade Agreements
A Free trade Agreement (FTA) is an agreement between two or more countries where the countries agree on certain obligations that affect trade in goods and services. This is critical skill in the world of international trade compliance. This course will provide in-depth knowledge on U.S. trade agreements, sourcing benefits and how to leverage FTA's to optimize on duty savings. U.S. Canada Mexico Agreement - USCMA, Caribbean Basin Act and other FTA's will be the focal point for this Next Level of Knowledge. This course is designed for Trade Compliance professionals with base knowledge of international trade.
Import duties can be a huge cost for importers however U.S. Customs and Border Protection has many regulations that can be leveraged to duty recovery and savings. Preparing and Surviving U.S. Customs Audits
U.S. Customs and Border Protection conduct audits which are often referred to as Focus Assessments, Importer Self-Assessment (ISA) Evaluations, and Risk Analysis and Survey Assessments (RASAs). These audits can be costly and disrupt organizations supply chain. This course will provide how to avoid an audit, preparedness, red flags and how to successfully pass an import audit.
